Using Anim Curves with Mirror & Time Scale

PostSun Feb 28, 2021 11:35 am

I have an image setup to enter the screen from the left using Anim Curves on the Paths 'Displacment' parameter along with some easing. Now when I click the 'Mirror' checkbox the image leaves the frame at the end, as described in the 'New Features Guide Feb 21'. The animation works well and as expected.

Now when playing around with the 'Time Scale' parameter I can speed up or slow down the starting (entry) animation but this change is not reflected and the 'Mirrored' ending part of the animation.

At the moment I have keyframed the image to enter from frame 0 - 25. Using 'Mirror' this halves the keyframes used to 0-12 at the start and 112-124 for the end animation (speeds it up x2, as explained in the docs). Now when I set the 'Time Scale' to .5 to make the animation x2 longer it works at the beginning causing the animation to work from frames 0-24 BUT this isn't reflected in the ending animation. With the setting the ending animation doesnt even start, its like the start gets pushed forward, past the end frame. I would have assumed that using 'Mirror' this would also cause the ending to be mirrored the same as the start just in the opposite direction?

I hope this makes sense. Perhaps its working as intended. Anyone having this issue?

Seems I have figured it out.

Instead of using the AnimCurves 'TimeScale' from which I first applied to Path1:Displacement I used 'AnimCurves' from the Insert menu on 'Input' from AnimCurves on Path1:Displacement. I can then adjust the 'Time Scale' on this AnimCurves and it works perfectly over the whole animation in the beginning and also the end.
