Camera Raw settings grayed out

PostTue Mar 02, 2021 8:10 pm

I'm new to Resolve. I've ajusted my Project settings to the ARRI Alexa camera specs and chose DECODE CLIP to PROJECT settings (there is no "clip" option) in order for maximum color grading & adjustments. However when I go to the COLOR page, the Camera Raw settings are grayed out to CAMERA METADATA and don't reflect the actual Project Settings.

Even when I modify all of the sliders in PROJECT settings and save them, no changes are applied to the video.
It's as if the PROJECT settings are not really being saved or applied to the project.

I've tried reimporting files into an new project and I still have the same issue.
Can anyone help?

Can this be a problem/limitation with the FREE VERSION?

Are you sure your files are RAW? May use ProRes on the Alexa.

The files are LOG, not RAW but the Resolve tutorial & manual explains that by choosing DECODE CLIP = PROJECT I have access to the extra edit options.

How do you bypass the settings?

Right clicking clip allows assigning color and gamma, and you can also find bypass from there

It doesn't work. I still don't have access to the Camera Raw settings. I downloaded a previous software version - Resolve 15. And I still have the same issue. There is also another bug: when I label the nodes, the name disappears regardless even if I save the document. What can be causing these issues? Is this a glitch in the free version?

Camera raw controls work on camera raw files.
It sounds like you dont have raw clips.

That's what I assumed, these are probably ProRes files in log. The settings in the RAW tab don't apply, but don't worry, you can get beautiful grades nevertheless.
