Magic mask extremely slow

PostWed Mar 10, 2021 2:57 am

After finished magic mask tracking (1 stroke, face, quality faster), Resolve is extremely slow . Only 7 FPS are displayed in the viewer and the whole computer becomes very slow. The clip only has a resolution of 1024x540 (proxy 512x270, 30FPS). That surprises me a little, is this normal? Is my computer too slow for magic masks, do magic masks need so much processing power?

Yes, they are very demanding. And, AFAIK, they use the source resolution.

I could understand if it is so slow during tracking, but when tracking is finished and the mask is calculated and created, then it should not be so slow anymore. It's a pity that it's not possible to simply convert the mask into a polygon after tracking and set the maximum number of points, for example, that would probably be quite enough in many cases and reduce the processing power.
