System spec for Resolve 17

PostWed Mar 10, 2021 12:21 pm

Hello All,

Brand new to Davinci (just watched the tutorials and trying my hands).

I was planning to change by workstation anyway and so I am in a bit of confusion on the specs to go for so that I can work on 4K editing with no issues. Budget is a concern and going by the information, I am considering the below spec. Is this ok based on your experience? My usage won't be very heavy and typically would be making videos of 15-20 min in 4K.

Specs (HP Z2 Workstation):
{ processor - Intel XeonE-2104G 4C, RAM - 32GB DDR4 , GPU - NVIDIA Quadro P1000 4GB GDDR5}

Any suggestion is welcome.

Thanks,

The Xeon and the Quadro wouldn't be my choice. I'd prefer a new 11th Gen Intel (due out shortly), and an RTX card myself.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
