Sync audio with audio (no video)

PostFri Mar 12, 2021 3:04 am

Hi there!

Following situation: I have recorded a conversation between three people, each single person has his own audio track (used three different recording devices and mics due to external conditions). Now, since each person has started and stopped his own audio recording at different times, it his hard to align the audio tracks in order to get a synchronized experience. There are background noises as well, which makes it close to impossible to visually align the tracks via its wave forms.

Is there a (preferably automatic) way to sync these three audio tracks? There is no video involved yet. Video will be added later on top.

I know Davinci has a "Sync Audio" feature, but this seems to be only available if one of the tracks is a video track. Am I missing something?

Or are there maybe other tools I could use to edit the audio first and import it to Davinci afterwards?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

In version 17 on the Edit page, select all Audio Clips and via the Clip contextual menu via the “Auto Align Clips” menu select “Based on Timecode” or “Based on Waveform”.
