Copy and Paste not Pasting at the Playhead Every Time

Please can you guys help.

I am running Windows 10. Davinci Resolve 17. 1 Build 24, (free) but this issue happened in Davinci Resolve 16 too. 

The problem that I am repeatedly having in Davinci Resolve is that after I have opened any project, if I want to copy and paste a text clip at the point wherever the playhead is, it always goes and pastes the text clip at the beginning of the Timeline and not at the playhead. 

It only ever does this once, after I have opened a project. 
After the first paste (at the beginning of the Timeline), if I then copy and paste text again at the playhead, it works fine. 

Like I said, it only does this the first time I copy and paste text, in an editing session.

This could be a bug I guess, but could you walk through what you do, specifically? Do you use menu items or shortcuts for copy and for paste? Do you have In or Out points set? Do you have any other clips selected? What about the settings of your various tracks? Are you doing anything at all between the copy and the paste?

If you open a project and try copying/pasting something other than a text clip does it also not go where you intend?

I've seen something vaguely related, where someone had In and Out set but didn't realize it and pasted, then did an undo (which clears In and Out) and then the second paste worked as expected. Can't figure out your particular case and why it would only happen once.

I'm not using any in and out points and I'm not selecting any other clips. I'm in the Edit page and I either right click - copy and paste or I Ctrl C and Ctrl V.

Before I do this, I might be editing the clips, cutting or triming, adjusting audio or adding new Text clips.

I think it makes no difference what I am doing beforehand though, as I am sure it has happened when it was the first thing I did after opening my project.

I haven't tried it with anything other than a Text clip, but I will try it and see if the problem occurs with a video or audio file.
