DR takes 5 min. to boot but uses minimal system resources

PostMon Mar 08, 2021 5:26 am

As you can see
AudioDeviceGraph.jpg
AudioDeviceGraph.jpg (34.8 KiB) Viewed 901 times

DR (which I double clicked almost 10 minutes, still hasn't come up yet.
Interestingly, it is using minimal system resources... so
1. if there is a setting that would instruct DR to hog the resources and come up while I'm still a young man, that would be great.

2. Is there anything I can do about the audio device graph isolation that is hogging the resources (it's usually worse than the value I happened to snap a pic of above).
Thanks!

What kind of audio hardware are you using?

Have you any kind of audio programs installed?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I'm using a Blue Yeti mike (very widely used) and the laptop speaker (a pretty vanilla setup).
Other info:
Resolve 17 Studio Beta 10
PC based
Windows 10
Dell Inspiron 5570
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-8130U CPU @2.20GHz 2.21 GHz
120 GB Ram.

I previously used Pinnacle Studio. Do I need Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation?
1. If not, how do I kill it.
2. Is there any reason why DR takes so little of system resources at startup and is that the reason for the extremely slow startup (i.e. is DR being too nice and sharing resources with others thus making DR slow?).
Thanks!

The log files may show you at what point it's getting stuck. There's a .bat file in the DR installation folder that will generate a zip file of all the logs and save it to your desktop.
Resolve Studio 17.1.1
CentOS 7.3
Asus Z87, Intel Core i7-4770 3.4GHz, 24 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (450.66, supports CUDA 11.0). Old system but runs Resolve remarkably well!

Unmounted SMB shares will do this. Very large DB will also increase the time to load Project Manager.

My database is pretty new so it's probably not caused by a large db.
However, I'd really like to know how to check for "Unmounted SMB shares". What are they and how can I check/fix them?
Thanks!
John
