17.1 crashing when rendering H.265 main10

PostSun Mar 14, 2021 1:08 pm

Deliver is crashing on me if I try to encode a short piece (about 5 minutes) to H.265 Main10. happens both with an MP4 or MOV wrapper. It get's to about 20% of the render, which is from a master file in ProRes 422 HQ (so no other tasks involved) and it fails unrecoverable, I have to kill Resolve.
Here is the log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zb5qw97ysj9cb ... 1.zip?dl=0

This does not happen when encoding H.264 under the same conditions, but that is supported by the hardware.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

I can't duplicate this. I just exported a 4 minute piece in H.265 Main 10 using Studio 17.1 for Windows and an 8GB GTX 1070. No problems.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Could be MacOS specific. It works if I switch to software encoding , but that's incredibly slow.
The new Mainconcept encoder is much faster and works in software only.
