DR quits unexpectedly

PostTue Mar 16, 2021 1:59 pm

I am using:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)
Processor 2.7 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5
Memory 8GB 1867 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB

I have 121 GB Flash Storage with 26.6 GB available

Backup Drive External 2 TB with 1.08TB available

DR is starting to randomly crash. It seems that it may have something to do with offline media, which continues to be a problem. Most of the media that goes off line is .MOV and .HEIC files, so I changed them to MP4 and JPEG, but I still have problems with some of the MP4 movies going off line.

Is my hardware good enough to run DR? I just downloaded DR17.1 hoping it would solve the problem and it didn't.
Mac Mini, Chip Apple 4M
Memory 24 GB unified memory, 512 GB SSD memory
MAC OS Sequoia 15.4.1
DR Studio 20
EXT SSD SanDisk 4 TB

The main problem I have is "Media Offline". Although today the main problem is that it randomly just quits. Would a better computer solve these problems? I read that if you install an older version of DR, it might work better on an older computer. Is that is correct? Does DR work well with the new Mac M1?

What is the main problem with the computer that I have?

Your main problems are the small RAM and the very basic GPU. You could try Resolve 15 and using only small HD in the timeline (1280x720). I you want more, it’s time for a new computer.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
