Hi there,
I am new to Davinci and recently was prompted to upgrade, so I did... I had no idea about creating project backups and so was surprised when none of my projects showed up when it loaded the new version 17 database... I am just transitioned from Premiere and did not expect problems from upgrading..
I have been prompted once the 17 version opened to save projects before upgrading as otherwise they will be lost so i simply pressed cancel. I am thinking this means i am hopefully still in safe territory and that my projects are recoverable and usable within version 17 once relinked to database...
I just definitely want to do the right thing and not make any mistakes whilst doing it...
Can someone here please guide me on how to do so, as i have about 7 big projects on the go and really want this to work out...
I have seen some forums suggesting to search for the projects in /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Resolve Disk Database and have had success finding them (am using a mac)
My question is, what is the best way to get the files and database working back to normal without any negative effects on the project
And 2, once they are there, what is the best way to ensure their safety?
Many thanks to any help or advice, i really hope this is a simple fix
