will look different. For example, the OpenGL Renderer doesn't support soft shadows, so what you do is you render them separately with the Software Renderer and then comp the two together.
Edit: Oops, didn't notice at first that it worked like you wanted it in older versions. Sorry. The fact still stands though that the two renderers aren't comparable depending on which features you use.
