Images Plane 3D transparency bug vers. 17.1.

PostSun Mar 14, 2021 1:26 pm

Hi Blackmagic community

All the Images Plane 3D that I had in my projects have the problem with transparency and final image is not correct at all.

They have correct display and transparency with Renderer 3D : Renderer Type "Software Renderer", but with Renderer Type "OpenGL Renderer" the transparency and all colours are wrong.

This problem appeared just after updating to 17.1. With the previous version I had no problems and now I cannot continue my projects at all.

Here are two screenshots, which show Image Planes 3D display.

Maybe someone had the same bug and knows the solution for this problem.

Fusion section is buggy, so I would not count on much help or any very quick fix (unless it's user error, but I know nothing about Fusion so can't comment).

You should post this in the Fusion section where I think you may be able to get help with a workaround: https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewforum.php?f=22

I say workaround because the Software Renderer and OpenGL Renderer aren't built to have the same capabilities and will look different. For example, the OpenGL Renderer doesn't support soft shadows, so what you do is you render them separately with the Software Renderer and then comp the two together.

Edit: Oops, didn't notice at first that it worked like you wanted it in older versions. Sorry. The fact still stands though that the two renderers aren't comparable depending on which features you use.
