Media Offline on Davinci Resolve 17

PostTue Mar 09, 2021 2:49 pm

so, the files are in my drive, the drive is mapped, there's space in my disk, I've tried the auto safe trick with no success and I really need to make this work.
the videos play fine in VLC, they're .mov .
any idea?
thanks in advance

I have noticed this bug also after jumping to 17.1 Build 24.

The media seems OK during editing but when rendering you are presented with a "Media offline" screen in the final render.

The media files I have is MOV.

Actually, quick update.

The "Media Offline" coincides with my fusion creation.

What drive is set in project settings as the path for proxy and cache? Is that a high speed permanently connected drive?

I'm seeing a similar issue when certain media just randomly is displayed as being offline. Sometimes it will come back when I try to play it, sometimes it doesn't. Renders have also failed on me, because media was suddenly offline in the deliver tab, after being perfectly fine while editing.

Some things to note:
- The issue is only occuring with h265 footage
- The files are stored on an internal NVME Drive (Adata SX8200 Pro), Proxy and cache as well (Samsung 980 Pro).

System Specs:
Ryzen 3950x
RTX 2080ti
128gb RAM

I am on the latest Davinci Resolve 17.1 Studio Version.

My workaround has been to transcode all h265 material, which adds an unnecessary step.

Today I got the "Media Offline" error several times, and it was clearly connected with the cache. The clips were still there in the Media Pool, but in the timeline I got the message. After deleting the cache for those clips, they came back. After that, no error when rendering. There are no Fusion effects or clips in this project.

My cache drive is a fast SSD-RAID, constantly connected to the machine and the first in the list.

I’m getting the Media Offline alert midway through a clip in Resolve 17.1 Build 24.

This clip was shot on the Pocket 4K Film Gen 4, 24 fps.

Curiously, the point at which it shows the Media Offline alert is exactly the point at which I had switched from ISO 400 to 3200, as the clip was being shot. I have done this before and never got the same issue on Resolve 16.8.2.

The clip is on an external drive connected to the machine, second in the media-storage list. The first drive in the list is the machine’s internal SSD used for caching.

System specs:
i7-9750H
Windows 10 Pro
16 GB RAM
1 TB PCIe SSD
GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q 8GB
