17.1 Blanking Fill not working after update

I just updated to 17.1 and the Blanking Fill effect in an existing project has stopped working.... The effect is still available and it can be manipulated within the Inspector for a selected clip, but the Blanking Fill itself is not visible in the video.

Is this a known issue?

I'm seeing this issue as well running on my Macbook Pro M1 processor.
Have you been able to find version 17 Beta or Version 16 with this working?
(as well as multi clip length selection)
