Tone mapping vs. pre-multiplied alpha

PostWed Mar 17, 2021 11:33 pm

Hi,

I am facing a problem with the alpha channel of OpenEXR rendered files in Resolve (Editing and Coloring).

The problem is with glows and highlights in transparent areas losing luminosity as soon as color management (BM ou ACES tone mapping) is activated or when Corlor Space Transform is applied in the clip.

The only solution I have found is to compose the OpenEXR clips with the BG in Fusion tab before color correcting them.

Is there a way to preserve the luminosity values without the Fusion work around?
