Hi everyone!
First of all, I'm a new Davinci Resolve user and my first langage is french, so sorry for my english.
My sister and I are working on a short stop motion project. We have 63 scenes so far, but unfortunatly, we used an horrible stop motion software (we could'nt afford to buy Dragonframe) and the only way to wrap our project is to export the whole thing as a .mov file. There is no way to export the individual scenes and the software doesn't allows "save as".
That said, my goal is to cut all the scenes that are contained in the 10 minutes footage to export everything as individuals files so I can re import everything and be able to start the post production process. I'm also doing the music and the foley for the movie, so I need that done quickly.
We shot everything at 8 fps which is pretty low and non standard, but 3 x 8 = 24 fps so I set the session at 24 fps. 3 images now = 1 frame. I meticulously cut every scene with precision (frame per frame) to ensure everything is at it's right place. Unfortunatly, it's my sixth attempt and I get the same result everytime. When everything is rendered as individual clips, all the scenes are contaminated with frames that belongs in the previous or the following scene. Everything is fine in Resolve timeline. I waste about 6 hours of my time trying to resolve this, but I'm getting the same thing everytime.
Any idea how to fix that? My plan B would be to import 5000+ individuals pictures in Resolve that would last 3 frames each, but I feel it would be a real pain in the ass. I would then have to do the same process (seperate everything into separated clips, then render everything on my harddrive so I can start working.
Any workaround? It would be very appreciated
Many thanks in advance!
I'm working on a 21.5 inch Imac late 2015 running on an external SSD - Mojave 10.4.5. DaVinci Resolve 16.2.8.005
