Crash on Export

PostTue Mar 23, 2021 2:02 am

The app keeps crashing during export, at about 6-7% completion. I was able to work around this on one timeline by copying and pasting everything to a new timeline. But it's happening on another timeline now. Is there anything I should look for? I have 100GB free space on my drive and the piece I'm exporting is only a minute long.

Any error messages?

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

No error messages, just kaboom to desktop.

Also, I said "export", but I should have said "render".

I have now narrowed this down to happening only when I render at 720p. My project is set to 1920x1080. If I render at 1080p I have no problem.

Also, it happens only to certain timelines.

I have a tendency to think of Exporting as creating a new file for use outside of Resolve, and Rendering as creating Cache files for use while editing.

Which did you mean?

I tried to attach the drp but the site said "entity too large."

I can't find anything in the FAQ about how to locate my diagnostic log. Please help.

I'm trying to use Davinci's terminology, where you go to the Deliver page, add items to the Render Queue, and Render them.
