R17 Graphics White Level - Definitive List

PostFri Mar 26, 2021 10:46 am

In an HDR project I've noticed that the Graphics White level doesn't impact all white, like it doesn't seem to hit Text+. Is there a list that anyone knows about that covers exactly what it will and won't impact. I've not found it in the manual.

I haven't checked. New Features Guide maybe?

My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Just covers this but it's not necessarily clear as it does effect subs but doesn't impact title+ so is it saying Resolve based titles will be impacted but fusion based won't. It's not so clear for users that might not differentiate fusion from resolve.

Graphics White Level
A new “Graphics white level” setting lets you define a shared maximum level in nits (cd/m2) for titles, generators, and selected effects that generate color. Changing this setting lets you change the maximum level of all DaVinci Resolve-generated titles, generator graphics, and effects at once to accommodate different mastering and output requirements.

I would interpret that to include Fusion, myself.

Might be a bug with Fusion titles, for all I know.
