Modify with x y path + anim curves crashes

Hello

I am obviously doing something incorrectly but would appreciate a nudge in the right direction.

I am modifying the center with the x and y path modifier and then want to add anim curves to the x path? When I do resolve closes.

I know I can do this in the spline editor but want to build a macro that the end-user can use the anim curves panel.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I had a same problem.
I solved it this way. I add new control, animate it by Anim Curves and connect it by expression to CenterX,Y.
