Video not getting loaded in the timeline

PostSat Mar 27, 2021 8:18 am

Hello guys,

I am new here. The configuration of my PC is:
1. Processor: AMD® Ryzen 7 2700 eight-core processor × 16
2. GPU: NVIDIA Corporation TU104 [GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER]
3. OS: Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
4. GNOME: 3.36.8
5. CUDA: Cuda compilation tools, release 10.1, V10.1.243

When I import a video in media tool, I cannot preview it in the source window as it is complete black. When I drag the video to timeline, only audio is getting added and even that I am not able to play in the timeline preview window.

Please let me know how can I fix this. Also, if you need any more details, please let me know the steps to get those details, I will post it here.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Have you moved this post to Resolve forum already?
If yes, please let me know the link.
If no, please let me know the link of resolve forum in English where I can post my question because, on Google I can only find link of German forum.

Thanks in advance.

I'm picking you are importing a 10bit h264 file into resolve free version? It has a few codec limitations, audio can be seen, not video.
Use a prigram like Handbrake (free) to transcode to a different codec like DNxHR. Will then be viewable and much easier to edit with

Hello,

Thanks for the suggestion Jeff. Here is the original video property:

Here is the property of the video after the handbrake conversion:

Here is the next issue now:

After the video is converted, I can see horizontal lines if looked closely. Here is an example:

I tried different format of the output video, but still I get this.
Here is an example of selected render format:

Please let me know if I am missing something here, as all the YouTube tutorials which I refer to has good quality of the output video.

Thanks in advance.
