[Bug] [Windows 10] Removing marker from Edit timeline

PostSat Mar 27, 2021 10:06 am

[Davinci Resolve Free, 17.1 Build 24]

How to reproduce:
  1. Start a new, default project
  2. Create a new timeline, default settings
  3. Add a marker anywhere in the timeline using the keyboard shortcut (in my case 'm')
  4. Open the marker and add some text in the notes field
  5. Click on Done to close the marker
  6. Open the marker again
  7. Mark the text in the notes field and then cut it with Ctrl-X
  8. Click on Remove marker
The marker isn't removed and it's now impossible to, for example, save the project. Copy/pasting in the timeline using Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V is also broken. There might be more but that is what I noticed.

Just selecting the marker in the timeline and deleting it, without opening it first, works as intended.

I skipped steps 1 and 2, testing in an existing project/timeline.

The Marker was removed without issue.

Studio 17.1 for Windows.

You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Martin, I followed your steps with exactly the same result. Either it's us, :D , or there is a bug in the free version which Jim did not experience in the Studio version.

I tried this following the exact steps listed by the OP in Studio 17.1 Build 24 on Windows 10 (see my sig) and it behaved as he described.

I wonder if my timeline being created in an earlier version plays a part.

What happens for step 8 if you just click on the marker to select it and then click Delete?

I also use a Timelines bin. I've seen that make a difference with other issues.

Gary, it also locks you out so you can't even select the marker to delete it.
