USB Dock issues

PostTue Mar 30, 2021 10:28 pm

I have been using resolve on this computer for a while with no issues.
I recently got a USB-C (not thunderbolt) dock for my laptop, so I can charge, run extra monitor, and headphones from the dock all on 1 cable and it works on everything so far, except DaVinici Resolve. Any one experienced similar issues or have suggestions?

If I open resolve while plugged into the dock it opens and shows the time line but no media actually plays just black screens and no audio. (in preferences audio device options are laptop speakers, USB audio, this is more relevant later)

If I turn off the dock while I start resolve then turn on the dock, video plays but resolve wont recognize any valid audio devices. It wont play in my laptop speakers, or the headphones plugged into the dock, or even over HDMI to the terrible speakers in the monitor. (if I go into settings under audio using system setting it wont give any option other than laptop speaker (which work fine if not docked)

The only way I was able to get things to work (after a lot of trial and error). Plug headphones directly into laptop not dock. Turn off dock. Open Resolve. Manually choose headphones in preferences. Turn on dock. Use resolve only on bigger monitor (wont let me turn on dual monitor mode)

running Davinci 17.1 build 24
here is the log when I boot resolve with the dock on (headphones plugged into dock)

here is my sys info

So not ideal and almost defeats the point of the dock. Any suggestions?
