17.0 still Media Offline bug

PostFri Feb 26, 2021 2:16 pm

after working just one hour with the brandnew official release of 17, the system starts to create media offline issues randomly which is really frustrating

switching the timeline and coming back shows other clips as offline and some of those who have been marked as offline before are now displayed. This is weird :!:

The attachment 17.0 media offline.png is no longer available

Since this is not a big project there seemes to be a serious issue in memory mangement.
I worked on a very simple text animation in the Fusion tab and switched multiple times between Edit and Fusion tab.

Re: 17.0 still MEDIA OFFLINE bug

Here, using 17.1 beta 10 for Mac M1.

I have a variation on the "media offline". In this project, there is only one Fusion clip.

Initially, it had an error of "media offline" with two .png files in the Media pool showing red. So I went through the standard process of re-linking those two .png files. The end result was that, in the Media Pool, those two items were no longer red.

However, in the Fusion clip, there still was the "media offline error".

The twist is that, depending on whether the playhead is position within this one Fusion clip, it either:

(i) shows the graphics
(ii) shows one large "media offline" error (a big red rectangle that fills the screen), or
(iii) shows individual files each being offline (two small red rectangles, each in the location of the two graphic files).

I would have provided screen shots, but each was larger than the maximum size allowed to be uploaded.

I attach an error log.

Having similar issues with a PNG in a Fusion clip (DR Studio 17.1 Build 24). Issue first appeared after doing a SAVE AS to my project. The original project is (thus far) remaining stable.

After a SAVE AS, the Fusion clip works from mere seconds to several minutes, then that Fusion clip in the timeline displays MEDIA OFFLINE. In Fusion the text of the node strand with the PNG node is error red. The image shows fine in Fusion like everything's intact.

Relinking does nothing. The PNG file shows fine in the MEDIA pool.

Removing the PNG MEDIAIN node removes the MEDIA OFFLINE error in the timeline.

Also, if I try to replace the PNG node with the same PNG file Fusion won't accept it. It can't be drug into Fusion nor will it be accepted by a new MEDIAIN node. Other PNGs can be brought into Fusion as expected however.

I first thought that exporting the Fusion clip from the original project then importing that to the SAVE AS project solved the problem. But apparently not.

Oddly when I scroll frame by frame thru the timeline on the EDIT page there's 1 frame where the Fusion clip appears as intended. But only that 1 frame.

So I was able to salvage my project by grabbing that one frame in COLOR and exporting as a still. Added that to the timeline and it solved my problem. Obviously the Fusion clip has no animation so the workaround solved it this time.

But maybe not next time.

Thoughts?

Updated DR Studio to 17.1.1 Build 9. No change. Doing a SAVE AS the Fusion clip breaks by no longer recognizing the PNG file. Can't reload the PNG file into Fusion as described earlier.
