It's easy :)

After installing the program, you will find it in the [...]\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Documents\ folder (in Windows).

But it's still the August 2020 version, even after installing 17.1.1

There's still no updated manual for version 17. There's a Resolve 17 New Features Guide which goes some way to showing the changes, but yes it's far from ideal to have to consult two different documents. Especially for new users starting out on v17.

I do find it rather surprising that such a major new release still doesn't have up-to-date documentation nearly five months after its first beta.

I think pretty much everything in the V16 manual applies to V17, particularly for new users such as myself that haven't managed to swim too far from the shallow end of the pool yet. Resolve is a richly featured piece of software and there's so much to go through that I haven't minded the wait. The biggest reason I've had to consult the new features manual was to understand how to use the Speed Editor, and in that respect it kind of acts like a manual that could have been delivered with it.

At the same time I'm sure that the old pros appreciate all the new stuff being specifically identified in the new features manual so that they don't have to sift through all the old stuff to figure out what new tricks they can incorporate into their projects.
