Activation code -

I successfully installed 17b studio on my desktop. I have tried to download and install it again on my laptop but it's calling for an activation code. I don't recall having to do this for the first install and don't have any code among the papers that came in the box. (The original purchase was 16 Studio on an SD card, described on the box as DaVinci Resolve Studio Dongle.) Have I missed something?

Yes. You are missing a dongle or a plastic card the size of a credit card with the key on it (not the serial).
if it is the key code, you can use it on two machines.
