Davinci RCM transfer look to 709 lut

PostMon Apr 05, 2021 10:26 am

Hi,

I've created a look in RCM with Davinci WG/Intermediate as timeline space but forgot that this isn't practical if I'd like to save it as a lut intended for Rec.709.

Does anyone know a proper way to convert this without breaking the look?
If I revert to non-color managed and sandwich the look between two transforms source->DWG/Intermediate and DWG/Int -> 709 out the look isn't the same.

I suddenly remember asking this a while ago and got a tip to slam a generation pattern through the look and generate it outside Resolve.

That seemed to do the trick!
If anyone else might be struggling with this I used this site:
http://www.onlinelutcreator.com/

The size is limited but good enough. Just create a 256x256 timeline (can't do 256x128 for some reason) and crop and save to png after export to tiff from resolve and voila :)
