Speed Editor Key Issues

PostWed Apr 07, 2021 11:23 pm

Hello all,

I just got my speed editor and am having trouble with a couple of the buttons.

The SOURCE and TIMELINE buttons both do the same thing. They both select the Source Tape in the cut page, but will not let me to get the timeline.

I am also having trouble with the SCRL button. It won't select that mode or light up. If I am in SHTL mode, pressing SCRL will select the JOG mode.

I am on macOS Catalina, 10.15.7. I have tried this on DR 17.1.0 and 17.1.1, both with the same problems.
I have reset the preferences in DR to make sure everything is default, as well as done a factory reset of the Speed Editor through the Control Panels Setup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That's very weird. If you tap the Source button more than once, does it toggle between the source "tape" and a single source clip (as it's supposed to do)? Does the Timeline button do the same thing?

No, it does not cycle between the source options. Neither the timeline nor the source button cycle through. It only goes to the source tape, and stays there.

The YouTube link (I couldn't figure out how to attach it here) shows me trying to use the Scroll button, as well as the Source and Timeline Buttons.

Thanks for your help!

I have tried uploading several times, but can't seem to get it to work. And it won't let me submit links either. Any help there?
I also tried the Speed Editor on a different computer and OS (Linux) yesterday, and had no luck there, either.

Can u hold both the cut and Smooth cut buttons down for 1 second. Then restart the computer.
Test.
If that doesn’t work, go to the DaVinci panels setup utility application in your DaVinci resolve application folder and run the utility, check the SE has the correct software by selecting the icon below the SE picture. If u update the SE software, restart the computer, test.

If that doesn’t work, contact your local BMD support office for an exchange and let them know about this forum thread do they can send the unit for us to review

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the response. I tried holding down the two keys and restarting, but no luck there.

I also went to the Control Panels Setup, but there is no option to update the SE. It shows me I am on Software Version 1.1, Build 49b7e6df, and gives me an option to do a factor reset, but that is it.

I will get in touch with my local BMD office for an exchange.

Thanks again for your help!

Mike
