png with alpha always influences video below DWG IPP2

PostFri Apr 09, 2021 9:07 am

when i work in color management (DWG/IPP2), and place an animation/video with alpha (png sequence) on top of the video layer, the highlights of the video are getting washed out a little. It doesn't happen with other output DRT's like "davinci". Also not with ACES.

It doesn't help when i bypass the color management on the clip with the alpha, or change the input color space. Also tried to change the alpha modes (premultiply/straight), data levels, etc.

It does help when i bypass the color management of both the alpha layer and video layer, but this obviously brings unwanted changes to the video. Am i dealing with a bug?
