Rendering Times for 360 video

PostMon Apr 12, 2021 8:37 pm

Hi,

I'm rendering 360 video for the first time and the render time is around 3 days.

Here are my specs:
Mac Mini 2018
3 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5
8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

I'm considering buying this machine to render:
Processor Manufacturer Intel
Processor Type Core i7
Processor Generation 9th Gen
Processor Model i7-9750H
Processor Core Hexa-core (6 Core)
Processor Speed 2.60 GHz
Maximum Turbo Speed 4.50 GHz
Cache 12 MB
Memory Standard Memory 16 GB
Memory Technology DDR4
Memory Speed 2666 MHz
Graphics Controller Manufacturer NVIDIA
Graphics Controller Model GeForce GTX 1660Ti

I'm on a budget so I can't go all out and get a proper desktop rendering setup. Wondering if this gaming laptop will reduce render time significantly or only slightly.

If only slightly, does anyone have any suggestions for a machine that I can use to render for $1000 or less that will increase the render time substantially?

Thanks!

What is the source, timeline and render resolution? And frame rate?
What are the source and destination codecs?
What is the length of the timeline and does it have fusion comps or color correction?
Go u have the studio version?

What is the source, timeline and render resolution? And frame rate?

The source and output are the same - a USB 3.0 SSD
The source, timeline, and render resolution I believe are all the same
5760x2880 29.9fps

It's several 3 minute clips shot with an Insta360 (default settings), exported via Insta360 Studio in H.265 to .mp4. I then brought them all into studio, selected "optimize media" in the media center, waited about two hours, then lined them up on the timeline and went to deliver.

What are the source and destination codecs?

The first clip of 3 mins I exported in Apple ProRes, the rest are all H.265 to H.265.

What is the length of the timeline and does it have fusion comps or color correction?

35 min
58 sec
25 frames

No fusion or color correction of any kind.

Thanks!
