Fusion: Making a keyframe responsive to text length

PostWed Apr 28, 2021 6:28 pm

Hey everyone,

is there a way to make a single Keyframe (x-position of a rectangle maks) responsive to a text length?

In detail: I'm, working on a lower third, left-aligned, which I want to use as a macro/custom title on the edit page later on. The Text has a simple sliding reveal. A rectangle mask sliding from left to right revealing the text (x coordinate is animated). As I will use the custom title in the future, the text will have variable lengths. Now, here is the thing: I want the reveal/the sliding mask to take the same period of time always. So the reveal of e.g. the short text okay should take 1 second, but the reveal of the longer text Davinci Resolve Fusion should also take 1 second automatically. How do I do that?
I squeezed out all my expressions knowledge, but it did not lead to success. In my eyes all it needs would be, making the last x-position keyframe responsive to the text length. The first x-position keyframe should always stay the same so that the mask always start from the same origin, as the lower third is left-aligned.

Thanks so much
Klaus
