Mixing different frame rate in a Timeline issue

PostThu Apr 29, 2021 3:53 am

Some of my clips are shot at 30fps and some are 60fps, I prefer exporting the project to 30fps. Will it be a problem if I add 30 and 60 fps clips in the 30fps timeline? Do I need any frame blending in davinsi or any extra work?

My footage is shot at GoPro 8 at 30fps, but I dont know why it shows 29.97 fps when I import them into media pool. Any idea why?

You can always tell the footage in Clip Attributes to be handled as 30 fps. And, yes, just throw the 60 fps stuff at your 30 fps timeline and switch the interpolation to Nearest.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

The Mixed Frame Rate Format in Project Settings / General affects the behavior of how the timeline interprets footage with different fps than the timeline. The 30fps timeline drops every second frame in 60 fps footage if you do not select None.

What fps does Media Info read? (or other applications outside of DaVinci) If they also read 29.97, there is a issue in GoPro.

Thank u very much, What is interpolation? I find "Frame Interpolation" in the Project Setting, there are 3 attributes "Retime Process", "motion Estimate Mode" and "Motion Range", which one to change?

There is an attribute "Use Drop Frame" in Clip Attribute, any idea when to use it?

Every app or windows show 29.97 and there is no 29.97 in GoPro manual but the final output is 29.97 if I choose 30fps in GoPro.

So it's not named correctly in the GoPro. Switch Retime Process to Nearest.
