Resolve 17 only import audio (no video) of sony a7r clips

PostThu Apr 29, 2021 4:00 am

Hi!

When I import the mpeg4 clips shot with sony a7riii. Resolve only import the clip as an audio file.

For context, Quicktime player can't play this clips. I have to watch them with the VLC player.
But Premiere Pro can play the clips without any problem.
I read in other posts that this was a problem of the sony codec and the solution is to transcode all the clips into ProRes.

Do anyone know another solution to fix this issue?

Is it an issue only of Resolve that doesn't happen with Resolve Studio?

Thanks!

Yes, you need Studio.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
