Grading a round tripped Multicam project from Premiere.

PostTue Apr 27, 2021 10:59 pm

This might be a stupid question, but is there an easy way of Grading a multicam project, round tripped from Premiere Pro?

I already made my edits, and then I exported out an AAF (so Resolve is referencing the original footage, not a cut up file.) The timelime seems to have imported fine and all the footage is there, but when I got to the colour page, I have 171 clips, all of which seem to need to be graded individually. When there were 6 cameras.

Is there an easy way to link the clips from the same camera together in the grading panel? Even making RAW changes to BRAW clips only seems to apply to the individual clip being edited?

As I said, all of the individual files are physically in Resolve, it would seem to make sense that I could just grade the file rather than having to grade every instance that file crops up in the edit. Is there a way of doing this?

(Recently, and most of my Resolve experience has been using the ATEM Mini pro ISO, which does this automatically when you open the pre-generated Resolve file.)

Look into Remote Grades.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
