problems with davinci after rendering

PostTue Apr 27, 2021 11:08 am

Hey all, Im pretty new and couldnt find a similar topic thats why I ask here.

As soon as I finish rendering my videos and watch them afterwards there will appear a moment in which the sound is vanished and it laggs a little bit. In my original recording it seems all fine, it just appears after I rendered it.

Im looking forward in hearing from u!

If I missed an already existing topic, I appreciate it if someone could link it.
Greetings!

You don't provide any details, so it can be difficult to speculate.

What kind of media are you starting with? What camera was used to film the footage?

If you bring the export back into Resolve, does it work properly?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Hello sorry im new to this, but thanks for your response!

I'm currently recording with OBS : 2560x1440 at 60FPS - 70500 Kbps - mp4 - NVIDIA NVENC H.264.

Yeah thats weird apparently if I put the output back into Davinci resolve its not "lagging" in the playback window (dunno what its called exactly).

Sincerely,
Alexander Andreas

Resolve doesn't handle VFR very well. But OBS sometimes is generating VFR even if set to CFR, depending on load by other software running (like games in particular).

OK.

I always recommend hardware recorders for screen capture you intend to edit. They typically offer editing friendly options like DNx and ProRes, whereas software normally doesn't.

Okay thank you, I only produce videos as a hobby - is there a workaround instead of buying something?

You can transcode to CFR with tools like FFmpeg or a GUI for it, and these are free.

There are also other NLEs which may handle the original footage better than Resolve, typically in the consumer arena.

I haven't tried it, but Shot Cut is one to look at. Filmora as well.
