Fairlight: Saving inspector settings

PostSat May 08, 2021 4:49 pm

Hi all of you out there, is there any posibility or workarround to save all settings of the inspector of a clip incl. effects in Fairlight, like it is possible for tracks? Actually I would like to use the track for it, but unfortunately the “cache audio effects” option does’nt work on a track with track settings, only on clips with clip settings. Thanks in advance for helpful recommendations! Have a nice weekend!!!

Hi Uwe, no way to do this, only track presets in the Fairlight menu, not clip effects chains. If you wanted to use the track presets and processing instead, you could use the bounce mix to track option in the timeline menu, but you'd need to solo the track you want to bounce or have no other clips in the same spot on the timeline because it will bounce all audio that is playing to the new track. A dialog will pop up to select if the mix bus is bouncing to a new track or existing track.
I guess the catch is - if you are using the main stereo bus as the bounce source, the new track will be stereo. Only really an issue if your original track was mono. If you want the new track to be mono, you could change the track type to mono after it has bounced, or you could set up a mono bus before you bounce the mix, assign the track you want to bounce to it and choose that as the source for the bounce to a new track.
