keyframing a Power Window?

Hey folks
I added a serial node and want to use a power window within it for just 10sec of a 30sec clip to lower the gain on a shot that points into the sun. The camera pans and briefly catches the suns glare. I want the node or power window to only apply for that brief moment. I tried adding a static keyframe only to corrector 3 (the node with the power window) but it does not do it.

What am I doing wrong?

What correction are you making within the Power Window?

You need 3 dynamic keyframes for this. One for start position, one for lowering the gain and one for coming back to start position.

This is a good basic tutorial for this. Old but still legit.

I would add power window, animate it for the motion of the sun, and make your correction at the worst part of the sun flare.

Then look for your key control, and animate the gain. Drop it to 0 where you don't see the sun, and animate it up to 100 at the worst part, and then back to 0 if needed as the sun passes off again.

This will both animate the window position, and amount of correction you are doing.

I had to correct both gain and color fyi and Glenns advice looked like daunting jargon but was spot on and easy to grasp after I viewed the tutorial.

FYI - I dropped the power window size to zero when I did not need it for the rest of the clip.
