Compound clips in the fusion page

PostFri Apr 30, 2021 3:44 pm

When I create a compound clip from several 16x9 clips on a 16x9 timeline, then copy that compound clip to a 9x16 timeline, when I open the fusion page it pulls in the 9x16 timeline instead of registering the original dimensions of the compound clip. when you have 16x9 footage in a 9x16 timeline and open fusion it brings in the source clip as 16x9. Ideally I believe compound clips should work in the same manner. Anything I'm missing? is this the intended way this should work?

I get what you mean. It seems resolve doesn't really recognize the original timeline resolution in certain ways. For example, in the inspector, the scaling options don't do anything either. I stumbled on that a few times now. Not sure how that could be useful. Anyway, you could get around it by decomposing your timeline/compound clip first, but i get why that's not entirely desired.

bumping. clarity on whether this is working as intended or a bug that will be fixed would be appreciated.

bumping one last time. this could really have some meaningful effects, especially when it come to building custom macros and presets.
