Project backup lost after a crash

PostMon May 17, 2021 11:19 am

Hello everyone,

Resolve Studio 17.2 from last wednesday, Mac OS Catalina

Happened to a friend and for the first time, I can’t help!!!

After an « unexpected » and sudden crash, all the grades on the last project are lost. Strange indeed!!! When trying to have access to the project backups, as usual, with a right-click on the projet, the window is « unexpectedly » empty! No more project backup! Totally empty! Nothing, absolutely nothing!!! Another strange thing!!! But the backups are still there right into their location on the drive, as « expected », of course.

Is there any way to re-open these backups from there location on the drive itself and re-open them right into Resolve? Anyone survived this sort of crash? And if yes, how? Thanks to all…Still waiting in the cold for rescue, watching in the sky!

And all the best to the Resolve community!

If you mean periodic backups with date-stamp information in the file name and ending with the extension ".db", edit the file name to remove the date stamp numbers, so you end up with nothing but "project.db". Then put that file into a folder with the project name and move the folder into the "Projects" folder of the database. This assumes you have a working database at present. If not, create a new one.
