Resolve Studio 17.1.1 build 9 frequently crashing M1 16GB

Hi, I am using Davinci Resolve Studio 17.1.1 build 9,
it frequently crashes on my new Mac Mini M1 16GB RAM version,
I have tried with and and without live save, with and without auto project backup.

I get crashes every 10-20 minutes. It performs very well during those minutes though!
And I have been able to render a finished project with 7 hours of footage.
So I think it only crashes in the color or edit page.

Resolve crash report UPDATE
I am now using Davinci Resolve Studio 17.2 but have had these issues on 17.1.1;
Big Sur OSX 11.3.1 but it crashed as frequently on previous versions OSX 11.2.3 and 11.3

1TB Samsung 970 EVO plus NVME as proxy drive in a USB-C enclosure, sustained read write speeds about 950-1029 MB/s.

A 1TB Crucial SATA SSD is currently my media drive.

Interesting notes regarding proxy/cache drive settings: when using the internal drive as proxy/cache drive and SATA SSD as media drive it did not seem to crash while color grading.

GPU settings: Instead of auto, I set it to Metal, and selected Apple M1 as my GPU (instead of Auto setting). Auto vs manual seemed to make no difference in crash frequency.

Recently, taking screenshots of the settings in resolve makes the system crash instantly, and every single time.

It seems DR mainly crashes in the color page, and usually when going to full screen, disabling/enabling nodes, saving the project (keyboard shortcut command-s), setting/adjust power windows, making color adjustments, but sometimes just from moving the mouse cursor in the color page

I saw major spikes in CPU usage at the time of a crash, but not memory or GPU.

Each of the Resolve logs were with different approaches,

may 8th was when I started using an external NVME as a cache drive.

-1080p timeline
-Panasonic S1H footage
-4K H264 10-bit 150mbps Long GOP codec

There are a lot of errors in the log for clips at STRATEX/21 April/S1H
can you remove this external drive and verify operation with internal storage only and a non S1H clip?
If that works, post a sample clip for someone to review.

Dear Peter, I tried your suggestions, and even with regular H264 footage, (non-S1H) and using only the internal drive, all external drives removed, it still crashes. It seems to happen especially when using qualifiers. I have added a new log for this crash:

Question: could it be that I need to run the rosetta updater?
Or should I try a complete fresh install of OSX and start from scratch?

I tried Rosetta updater, to no avail. The (it appears temporary) solution was to clean re-install OSX.

However, after upgrading to 17.3, the same problem comes up. Here is the diagnostic report:

The crash can be reproduced simply by saving a grade via keyboard shortcut alt+1.

It happens also in projects with GH5 footage. I just save a power grade with alt+1 and the critical error occurs.
