Bluetooth headphones mic.

PostFri May 28, 2021 9:20 pm

My issue is with the new 17.2 update.

I use noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones that have a built-in mic. to listen to music while I work. Version 17.0 (free) worked just fine. However, with the new update I can no longer listen to music, because as soon as I open Resolve, it starts using my mic. Not recording over any of my projects' audio, but does the same thing as when I use the mic. feature on google search, to speak my search, instead of typing it in.

In my computer settings, I have allowed mic. access to apps on my desktop because I have my browser on my desktop (google spoken search). I have Resolve on my desktop as well for easy access, but as mentioned above, I never had this issue with the previous version. It is worth mentioning that I can change whether my headphones' mic., or laptop mic. is used so I can listen to music; that still doesn't alter that I didn't have to do that before AND that it is using my laptop mic. when I have it selected.

My thought process is that Resolve shouldn't be using my mic. unless/until I was wanting to use it to record voice material. What do I need to do/ what needs to be done to fix this?

I have long recommended using only traditional analog or digital audio connections from the system. They're typically better quality/more reliable.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
