Yeah... They do not make any drivers for it, nor the M-Audio ProFire 2626, beyond Windows 8 and I chose the Windows 7 Pro driver for both audio interfaces (the Win8 driver is pretty funky-acting...) and installed them in Compatibility mode. Sometimes it BSODs when I turn it off (only the Tascam) before shutting down the workstation, sometimes it doesn't. It's hit and miss. However, when I follow the power-up/ power-down sequence of booting the workstation, powering up the Tascam, then the monitors, and power-off the monitors, shut down the workstation, then power-down the Tascam it works as expected every time.
This afternoon, I started Resolve and it threw that error again - this time, because I closed Resolve from the Cut page and it opened on the Cut page (I usually edit in the Edit window which occupies all three video monitors whereas the Cut page only occupies two for some reason), I figured out that it is during the audio plug-ins scan that it throws the error. The audio fx scan is hidden behind the interface on monitor 2 but the error box has a high level of focus programmed into it and it comes out and stays on top... It hangs while scanning VIP_x64.dll. I am researching why there's a conflict. That file is related to my Akai Pro MPK88 and the MPC Beats software. The workstation is a DAVW - I do music composition, mixing, and mastering with it along with video editing and finishing. The Tascam is for recording and the ProFire is for mixing/ mastering (it's connected to a Tascam M-16 analog large-format console). Still trying to integrate the M-16 into the setup but time is a factor right now because we have several active projects and I'm learning Resolve in the process of all of this.
It works. I just have to be really careful what I do.
I am THAT I am.
