V17.2.1 Linear Gamma

PostWed Jun 02, 2021 12:49 pm

v17.2.1 , While it has resolved the HDR palette bug (hurray).... all my nodes that I have set the 'Gamma' to LINEAR (cause that's how I set Exposure) ... have all changed to a highly contrast ugly look since the upgrade from 17.2 to 17.2.1.....which means I have to do all those grades again.
I even have saved stills which were perfect & now when I apply them, same bad result I get from the Nodes that are set to ‘Linear Gamma’
Weird. This is a bug.
Have Black Magic changed their Linear Gamma Algorithm overnight? Bit of an issue :-(

Please don’t dupe post for the same issue.
I’ve deleted all the dupes this time.

Re: V17.2.1 Linear Gamma BUG

Just an update. I also realised that When using curves previously, turning the node Gamma On LINEAR or Off back to ‘timeline’ default had no effect.
But now in V17.2.1 change the node’s GAMMA to linear that has a curve adjustment completely effects it. This proves there is a BUG with Linear Gamma or they have changed LINEAR mathematically. I dunno. But it’s caused me great anguish. Oh well.
