Hi Everyone,
I wonder if anyone as encountered an issue where DR is stuttering intermittently at 22.5FPS every 2 seconds I think? I first encountered this when upgrading the last version of 16 to 17.0 and can't get rid of it. it happens in all formats 8K, 4K and HD playback and with all media types R3d, Prores etc. Render Cache/Optimised media etc.
My system can handle 8K, and this is only in old projects. New data bases run smoothly until I change one setting and it forever plagued. Adobe Premiere can play the footage without issue so I know it is not footage or my computer/drives. I'm on a LaCie 168TB. Speed tests I'm reading in 1700-1800 MB/s rage.
I've uninstall, re-installed, wiped my hard drive and put a fresh instal of Big Sur. Currently on an upgrade of 11.4
Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro7,1
Enclosure: Tower
Processor Name: 24-Core Intel Xeon W
Processor Speed: 2.7 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 24
L2 Cache (per Core): 1 MB
L3 Cache: 33 MB
Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled
Memory: 192 GB
My project is massive, about 140tb of data, and 100+ folders. I do have a lot of mix resolution aspect timelines that are different from the project timeline as I am cutting multiple formats for IMAX, so 4:3, 3:2,16:9. All at 24fps. I removed speed editor. I changed the user setting performance mode, hide UI etc, all the suggestions.
My suspicion is it's a data base error that keep cropping up or a DR/hardware issue that does not affect AP. All 8k files run fine outside of DR. I first saw this upgrading my data base from 16 to 17 when I added speed editor.
Any help identifying where this is occurring will be a big help.
