Can't Get Resolve to Open

PostFri Jun 11, 2021 1:08 am

I bought the pro version. Did a clean install and rebooted computer, installed dongle and it worked. Just installed the most recent version upgrade (17.2) and now it won't open. Goes through the initial stages of opening (loading Fairlight, etc.) and then I get error message- something about incompatibility with GPU.

Tried each of the fixes on this web page (https://beginnersapproach.com/davinci-r ... ci-resolve): uninstalled everything, fresh install...and nada. Went into device manager and disabled the Radeon graphics GPU, leaving only what I believe is the primary GPU - Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 operational.
Got this message: UNABLE TO INITIALIZE GPU Please ensure that the system power profile is set to use the discrete GPU for DaVinci Resolve and the displays are not connected to the integrated GPU. Say what?

Can someone please help me?

Eric, enable the Radeon GPU and disable the Intel. The Radeon is what is being referred to as the discrete GPU. If we are talking about a desktop PC, your monitor should be plugged into the Radeon.
Resolve Studio 20.0 build 49
Dell XPS 8700 i7-4790, 24GB RAM, 2 x Evo SSDs, GTX1060/6GB (572.16 Studio Driver), Win10 Home, Speed Editor, Faderport 1, Calibrated Eizo ColorEdge CS230 + BenQ & Samsung monitors for UI, Canon C100mk2, Zoom H2n.
