Clip offline but media online

PostThu Jun 10, 2021 11:41 am

Hello everyone

I found my old project, and I wanted to continue. It was offline so I re-link and 95% of clips are online now. However that 5% is not. I can click on the clip and do find in media pool and is found. The in and out are correct but on timeline is still offline. It is a highly modified clip but so the others which are online.

Is that a bug? Please help

Find that clip in the bin, then right click on it in the timeline and choose Conform Lock with Media Pool Clip.

Report back.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for very quick reply. I tried to do it but is not working. I found the clip then in timeline I right click and conform lock is enabled (ticked) then I click on Conform Lock with Media Pool, the buffer goes to blue in few seconds and still offline. Any idea?

OK.

To make sure I understand, a clip in the timeline is offline, but when you select that clip and it's highlighted in the Media Pool, it's also offline, or it's there?

Is chance on?
Maybe you ran out of cache storage?
Try it with cache none or check the disk storage.

Also try to edit the clip manually.
Does it play in the timeline?

Hi Jim

The clip is offline in the timeline but in media pool is online. I can play it.

Hi iddos-I

The cache is the message I got at the beginning but I don't know what I should about it.

I also got this cache mess.

On my old computer I had those folders:

DaVinci Cache
DaVinci Media
DaViniciResolve Cache

On my new one
DR17 is installed on C drive
I got this

Cache for Da Vinci

for my old project, I got this folder

D:\Filmowanie\Wieruszow

inside is database and resolve project with settings and users

I'm really lost what to make of this? Maybe that is the part of the problem

Go to Playback menu -> Render Cache check ‘None’ and see if that makes the clip live again.
If so, delete all render cache.

OK.

It's looking like the missing cache is the source of your Media Offline message.

Delete the Cache should return the media.

If you want to show a movie, upload to any free cloud service and post the link here.
