Fairlight Desktop Console

PostFri Jun 18, 2021 11:44 am

This might be pure speculation however does anyone have any idea if the Fairlight Desktop Console would work with other audio software besides Fairlight. I am specifically thinking of Pro Tools or Logic Pro X.

I know things like the HDMI output would not work, but could everything else be mapped?

I think it unlikely as Pro Tools uses Eucon. I think you will find the Fairlight products use their own protocol. I know the Avid S3 equivalent is about £1500.00 more expensive than the Fairlight Console. If you particularly want a controller for PT I would suggest looking at the S1 + Dock bundle which is £1928.00 plus you will need two tablets for displays.

I have been looking at the Avid Dock and S1 combo. One of the drawbacks is that you can only use tablets on it vs a bigger monitor. And the Dock cannot handle the 12" iPro Pro tablet. And the S4 is way out of the price range for me. And honestly, I have not been a fan of other control surfaces that I have seen. I use to use the Digital 002 and Digital 003 Factory and the new Fairlight Desktop Console reminds me of them...just way less bulky :p

Your thoughts on the Eucon is spot on, I forgot about that.
