Hello,
New to Davinci Resolve 16 (free version) so am absolute beginner.
When I first started using the software I could hear audio whenever I scrubbed through the timeline. After a few weeks I noticed the audio was not heard if I scrubbed using the Cut Page upper timeline. Then, after a little more time it could not be heard anywhere on the cut page except in the source viewer but only by scrubbing using the 'In' and 'Out' markers. Now, it isn't heard through the source viewer at all. Sometimes on the edit page scrubbing through the timeline works fine and I can hear the audio fine. Other times I cannot hear audio unless I actually play through the timeline.
Is there a setting I'm not aware of that is changing, possibly? I would have thought if I could hear audio in a session when scrubbing thorough the timeline I should be able to hear audio in subsequent sessions, but this not the case.
Of course I can always hear sound when I play through the timeline, etc. Just not when scrubbing through the timeline.
It's not consistent either.
Am I doing something wrong perhaps. I'm not changing any parameters that I'm aware of.
Thank you,
Stuart
Edit: 11/122/20 - I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it and now the audio is heard when scrubbing. Took a couple of attempts but at least it's back to working the way I believe it's supposed to.
Edit 11/12/20: - after I shut down the PC for the evening, when I started it back up the next day I'm back to not having audio, as described in the original post. I've also seen, on occasion, that when I drop a clip into the Fusion page and select one of the monitor outputs the image is not visible on the monitor. I'm following a BMG tutorial and am following their instructions to the letter.
I'd appreciate some assistance because the software is not very usable if the audio is not audible during scrubbing.
The PC I'm using is from Puget Systems, built specifically to work with this version of Resolve. So can't imagine the issue is with the PC, especially since I have audio when playing through the timeline.
Thank you,
Stuart
