Auto Align Clips Issue

PostTue Jun 29, 2021 6:41 pm

I'm having an issue auto aligning clips based on waveforms I hope someone can help me with.
I have interviews shot on two cameras, with two separate audio recordings, I have no issue aligning the two audio recordings with one of the video clips, but cant seem to align anything with the other video clip, tried various group and single scenarios; Auto Sync Failed, No match was found when attempting to align these clips. I have checked the tracks and managed to sync/align manually.
From the research I've done so far it may be a mono / stereo issue, the usable video clips brings in one audio track (2.0), when selecting clip attributes I get: Format=Stereo / Source Channel=Embedded Channel 1 & Embedded Channel 2 / Track=Audio 1 / Channel in Track=Left & Right.
The problem video clip brings in four audio tracks (1.0), however a waveform is only present on track 2 of 4, when selecting clip attributes I get: Format=Mono for all / Source Channel=Embedded Channel 1-4 respectively / Track=Audio 1-4 respectively / Channel in Track=Mono for all.
I've tried un-linking the audio, deleting the blank audio tracks, and switching the remaining to stereo within the clip attributes but no joy.
Fairly new user of resolve using studio 17, any help/advise would be greatly appreciated before I go ahead and sync manually, thanks

Try sinking each video with its associated audio in the media pool, then put both clips in the timeline and sync the two clips there with the timeline sync tool from the menu bar
