Should I be able to use a Logitech C920 Webcam as a microphone input to Resolve, running on Windows 10? It’s working in other Windows apps, and is detected in Windows’ Sound settings, but doesn’t appear in the Fairlight patch input/output window.
The webcam is set as my default microphone in Windows sound settings, and I’ve tried specifying it directly for Resolve in “App volume device preferences”, but it still doesn’t show in Resolve Fairlight inputs.
I’ve looked in Windows “Microphone Properties” under “advanced” and in “Default Format” I have 16Khz and 32Khz, with no 48Khz option. Is this the problem?
Do I need to buy a new microphone if I want to record in Resolve, or is there a way to get my webcam working with it? At this stage I’m just having a go creating something and don’t want to spend too much money until I know I’m going to continue.
Thanks.
Edit: I've now downloaded "WO Mic" for iPhone and PC and managed use it to connect my iPhone as a mic in Resolve, but the quality's nowhere near good enough. This at least proves that my installation of Resolve can work with a mic. I presume it's my webcam reporting as a max of 32Khz that's the issue?
