Render Fails Blaims Default Fusion

PostWed May 12, 2021 3:25 am

My timeline is 9 min long and consists of a fair number of clips (~150) all shot at 2160P. When I try to render to any format with video it fails claiming Fusion error in the first clip. Only audio worked.

I reload the first clip, remove it and reinsert it and it still fail with that error. So I remove it, and then the next clip and it still says the first clip has an error in it. I then reboot but to no avail.

It started with a FX title coming in which it then said had missing media. I gave it the same treatment I ended up doing to my initial video clip but it will not render. I do have another title at the end and that works fine. I removed the initial title to remove that error.

Now it gives the error after seemingly having rendered the whole timeline, and then selects the first clip and says "Render Job 1 failed as the current clip could not be processed." and "The Fusion composition on the current frame or clip could not be processed successfully."

It so happens that I have not applied Fusion to a single clip, it is a pure patch up of a series of clips onto a timeline with video and audio. I doubt it could be a more simple mix. I even tried removing the Media In and Out and put a new one in but to no change.

The version is 17.1.1 Build 9 running on Mac Big Sur ver 11.13.1 w 16G RAM on a Mac M1 Mini. I have the Speed Editor and two 2160P monitors. There's over 100G of free disk space.

I just updated to 17.2 but there's no improvement.

Last night I also tried to export/import just the timeline and again no change.

Is there a way to get something out of Resolve that I can use to re-create the job? The biggest job would be to trim the audio which is only four files but has many cuts.

The answer to my question is probably export the timeline into a new job.

Could this be a corruption in the db?

Hi Steve

Please take a look at the FAQs when reporting an issue.

A link to the log archive from the help menu and a sample DRP file woulc help in this case, as would more detail on Resolve versions, which timeline, job and clip show the failure.

Regards
Shrinivas
