Davinci Black Screen

PostMon Jul 05, 2021 11:59 am

Hi,
i have a new computer and can`t work with Davinci anymore. The GPU seems to be the problem.
I updated my system to an i7-11700k and want to use the GPU as my graphic card is broken and it`s not the best time to buy a new one.
I was working on Resolve 15 which gave me the error message:
"Davinci Resolve could not find any OpenCL capable GPUs"
I tried almost everything - new drivers for processor, windows updates, new installation
nothing worked out.

As i was still using Resolve 15, i installed resolve 17 to see if that helps.
Well, it helped in some way that the software is now recognizing my GPU.
The problem now is, that the whole screen stays black. You can assume where the menu is on click on it and you will see the menu-bar. Please see screenshots

Hopefully one of you can help me to fix that.
Sebastian

Are we talking about a desktop or laptop computer? What GPU do you have?
If a desktop, make sure your monitor is plugged into the discrete GPU and not the onboard one.

Also, make sure your GPU driver is up to date. If it is an Nvidia one get it from the Nvidia website and do a clean install of it.

I have the same problem with my new ASUS ZenBook Dual Pro laptop.
I cannot attach the system info log from windows, it is too big to upload.

- ZenBook Pro Duo UX582LR_UX582LR
- CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10980HK CPU @ 2.40GHz, 3096 MHz
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU

I have the laptop running with a docking station

* UPDATE 2 - 15.07.2021 - ISSUE RESOLVED *
After deactivating the onboard low end graphics card all works smooth and fine.

* UPDATE 15.07.2021 *
I have noticed, that this seems to be a scaling problem, there is no actual crash. I can start the application. When used on the laptop screen, it scales correctly, but when I move it to the secondary screen attached to the docking station, It scales incorrectly (everything just gets bigger). I have no problems with other apps.
